Prof. Dimitar Ivanov Pushkarov has joined our department (September 1st, 2007)

We would like to welcome Prof. Dimitar I. Pushkarov who has recently joined our department. Prof. Pushkarov got his PhD from Moscow State University, M.V. Lomonossov, Russia, and has received his DSc from the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research, Dubna, Russia.

Assist. Prof. Levent Sari has received a TUBİTAK research grant (April 23rd,2007)

Assistant Professor Levent Sari has received a research grant for his research proposal titled 'Quantum, Classical (Molecular), and Statistical Mechanical Investigation of dynamic mechanisms of DNA-Topoisomerase systems in conjunction with the topoisomerase-targeted anti-cancer drug molecules'. The grant is in the amount of 272,000 YTL (=200,000 USD), and Dr. Sari will spend some of this fund on the construction of a small supercomputer cluster. We congratulate him, and wish further successes.

Assist. Prof. Bayram Unal has joined our department (March 26th ,2007)

We would like to welcome Dr. Bayram Unal who has recently joined our department. Dr. Unal got his PhD from De Montfort University at Leicester, UK., and has been working as post-doctoral researcher at the Queen Mary University of London, London, UK.

Assist. Prof. Yuksel Koseoglu has received his tenure (February 19th,2007)

Assistant professor Yuksel Koseoglu has received his tenure (Doçent), and will soon be appointed as the associate professor in the department. We congratulate him very much, and wish further successes.

Assist. Prof. Sadik Guner has received a two-year research scholarship (February 5th,2007)

Assistant Prof. Sadık Guner has gone to Alabama A&M University, as he received a two-year research scholarship. We wish him a successful stay there.

Champions have chosen our department (March 20th,2006)

Ms. Fatma Nur Unal, ranked 8th (OSS-EA) at the country-wide university entrance exam (taken by around 1.7 million students each year), and the world champion in Physics Olympiads, Mr. Mehmet Akif Cetinkaya, have chosen our department. We would like to congratulate them and wish success in their future life.
