The department offers Bachelor of Science (B. S.) degree to undergraduate students. In the program, the principles of physics are given at the first and second years, while advanced topics are covered at the junior and senior levels (curriculum of the program ). Because the entry level courses are taken by many students at the university, (e.g., a total of around 1200 students take PHYS 103 and PHYS 104 general physics courses each year), our department is provided with the most advanced laboratory equipments by the university, as some of them are unique in the country. The B. S. program is offered both in English and in Turkish languages. Those who want to pursue the program in English have to attend a one-year (two semesters) preparation program before taking courses from the department.
The participation of senior undergraduate students into the research at our department is another exciting opportunity for those students who plan to have an academic career. Therefore, all senior students, as well as successful juniors, are very welcome to one of our research groups.
